We are excited to announce our Fall Conference, not only because it’s exhilarating to signal any sort of return to normalcy, but in particular because we have a wonderful conference to announce.
Dr. Ardel Caneday is our featured speaker this year, and will be taking us through the theology of the Christian’s assurance of and perseverance in salvation. This is a somewhat difficult and oft-misunderstood subject, but also incredibly practical, as have laid awake at three in morning pondering the state of your soul know.
Twenty years ago Dr. Caneday published a book co-authored with Dr. Tom Schreiner entitled The Race Set Before Us: A Biblical Theology of Perseverance and Assurance, and will be presenting on some of the themes from that book.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting under the instruction of Dr. Caneday, you have some idea of how biblically driven, mentally stimulating, and soul refreshing it is. If you haven’t gotten to experience that, you really need to.
As with all the Common Slaves conferences, we look forward to wonderful times of fellowship, robust singing, and feasting body and soul with hearty merriment before the Lord.

Perhaps more than any other year, it’s obvious that we also say this concerning the conference: If the Lord wills, we will. Or, as my dear Russian friend says, if God helps, we can. If God doesn’t help, what we can do?
Hope to see you in a couple weeks.
